The famed ‘kannimanga achar’ or tender mango pickle!
It’s an exciting time when the mango season is upon us at Chikkanahalli Estate, Coorg. The tender mangoes from the century old tree in the plantation are carefully picked, and pickled with some flavourful red chilli powder, mustard, homegrown organic turmeric, asafetida and salt, like it has been done traditionally for years, in Kerala. It is topped off with a bit of gingelly oil and curry leaves.
No vinegar is used.
