It’s an exciting time when mango season arrives at Chikkanahalli Estate, Coorg. Tender mangoes from the century-old tree in the plantation are carefully handpicked and pickled using a traditional Kerala recipe. They are blended with flavourful red chilli powder, mustard, homegrown organic turmeric, asafoetida and salt — just as it has been done for generations. The pickle is finally topped with a bit of gingelly oil and curry leaves for added aroma and authenticity.
No vinegar is used.
